Okay, if you've been a member here for a while, you've probably despaired of there ever being any of the promised new content, but finally, there's a way for you to share your ministry ideas! If you go to the Message Board, you'll find a whole new section called "The Idea Box". This is a place for you to share the ideas that you have used in your different areas of ministry, such as retreats, banquets, VBS, Sunday School, etc. You just post like normal in the appropriate category, giving us all the information that we would need to do the same thing. Then we will choose different ideas to feature on the front page (like this!), and they will be categorized so that you can search for them in the different categories using the "Ministry Resources" tab.
We hope this will be a way to make TLMR a more usable ministry tool for all of you! Please take part and share your ideas!
Children's Sunday School crafts
I found a new site when I was searching the other day for some crafts to supplement my children's church material. I'm using old stuff and it seems to be really lacking in substance! This site I found has a ton of craft ideas for a whole lot of topics, themes and holidays. I hope you'll find it as useful as I have! Kids Crafts for Resurrection Sunday
Resurrection Sunday is coming so quickly! I seem to be running behind on everything lately, so I'm sure you're all more prepared than I am. But just in case you are searching for some things to do with your children or Sunday School class to reinforce the message of the Resurrection, here are some cute crafts I found that you might be able to use. http://www.dltk-holidays.com/easter/religious.html I'm going to do this craft with my Children's Church class tomorrow. We don't really have a Palm Sunday lesson, but rather a lesson on Christ's death, so I thought this craft would go well. There are several crafts that are specific to Palm Sunday and Easter, though, and quite a nice selection. Hope you find something you can use!

Easter TraditionsBack when my first child was a toddler, I decided that I wanted our holiday traditions to reflect the true meaning of that special day. So I went looking for things to do with him that would make the message more real to him. First I found Resurrection Cookies, which were very neat. You left them in the oven overnight and "sealed" the oven door with tape - a great picture of Jesus' tomb! When you got up the next morning, I would have peeled the tape away and opened the door. We'd get out the pan of cookies, take a bite and discover....it was empty inside! It was a great tool, with one problem - no one liked the cookies! They were basically meringue cookies, not something that small children (or even some adults!) particularly enjoy! So it was back to the drawing board. After more searching, I found Resurrection Rolls. Ooey-gooey crescent rolls, covering a marshmallow that has been dipped in butter and cinnamon sugar - who doesn't like that? Plus, there is a correlation to the Easter story with each ingredient. Resurrection Rolls have become our Easter tradition, and one that has real meaning. No "vain traditions", but ones that convey what this important day is all about, in a way that a child can comprehend. Here is the link that takes you to the recipe: http://blessingsforlife.com/recipes/holidays/resurrectionrolls.htm What traditions do you have in your family that point to the Lord's resurrection? Tell us about them in the message board! You might see your ideas show up here, where others can do a search and find ideas to help them make their own new, Christ-honoring traditions.
